privacy policy
This policy explains how Excerpta handles your data: what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. Who we are and the full list of your rights are in our general privacy policy; for anything about your personal data, write to privacy@tegmora.com.
What we collect
- Account — the email and the username you choose when you sign up.
- Content you create — passages you paste or share into the app, and the vocabulary cards generated from them.
- Usage & diagnostics — basic in-app activity and crash/error logs that keep the app working and help us fix problems.
We do not collect your location or contacts, and we use no third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
How we use it
Only to run the service — analyze passages, build and sync your vocabulary, and schedule spaced-repetition review — to process your subscription, and to fix bugs. That’s all.
Legal bases
We process your data under Article 6 of the GDPR and Article 5 of the KVKK on the following bases: performance of a contract (creating your account and providing the app’s features), our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and fixing bugs), your consent where we ask for it, and compliance with legal obligations where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
AI processing
When you analyze a passage, its text is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate the vocabulary cards, and the result is returned to you. Your content is never used to train AI models.
Where your data lives
Your account and content are stored with our backend provider (Supabase) on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Account emails — like password resets and welcome messages — are delivered through our email provider (Resend) from EU infrastructure. Subscriptions and payments go through Apple — we never see your card details.
International transfers
Our service providers (Supabase, OpenAI, Apple, Resend) may store or process data on servers located outside Türkiye and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred abroad, we rely on the safeguards provided for in Article 9 of the KVKK and Chapter V of the GDPR — such as the standard contractual clauses our providers offer — and, where the law requires it, your explicit consent.
Keeping & deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account anytime in the app (Settings → Account), which removes your data from our systems. You can also export your saved words from Settings.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data — most of it right in the app. The full list of your KVKK and GDPR rights, and how to exercise them, is in our general privacy policy.
Children
Excerpta is not directed at children under 13. If you think a child has sent us data, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app grows. We’ll post any changes on this page and update the date above.
